At Kolpinghaus Graz, community is a top priority. Accordingly, we have a large number of common areas and meeting places. To create a sense of community, a dedicated educational team offers a constant stream of activities and is on hand with help and advice.
In addition, the Kolping Jugend our youth association, which is open to all young people, offers its own activities and events and has its own club premises. We also have our own in-house chess club for all fans of the royal game.

Our common areas comprise several hundred square meters of space. These include our dining room, the StreBar, study rooms, the ballroom, fitness rooms, gym, recreation rooms with a wide range of facilities from billiards to table tennis, two music rooms, a bicycle workshop, a meditation room, as well as a communal kitchen and laundry room.
Our day-to-day activities range from play activities, creative design and festivals and celebrations throughout the year to excursions, workshops, concerts and other events.
The ballroom has its own bar and can be divided into two separate rooms. External associations and organizations are welcome to rent the premises for their own events and celebrations at a reasonable price, with or without seminar catering. Adjacent to our dining room is a newly designed seminar room, which residents like to use as a study room and which we also rent out externally for seminars and workshops.

StreBar
The heart of our common areas is our StreBar. Located right by the main entrance, it invites our residents and their external friends to come together and enjoy inexpensive drinks and snacks. The cozy bar was designed by a former resident and conveys an upscale café atmosphere.
Cinema
The Kolpinghaus Graz leases its 3 movie theaters to the KIZ Royal Cinema. Our residents benefit not only from the close proximity, but also from various discounts.

Support
The Kolpinghaus Graz is more than just a roof over your head: a central pillar of our offer is the support provided by our educational team. The services offered by our four-person team are primarily aimed at our underage residents. We support young people with all everyday issues and challenges - from visits to the doctor to leisure activities and learning support. We also see ourselves as mediators between them and their parents, schools, training centers, and the rest of the "adult world".
The team base is the supervisors' alcove next to the main entrance opposite the StreBar. The educational team can be found there for discussions, learning support, leisure activities and much more.
One of our main objectives is to ensure that young people feel at home at Kolpinghaus and that we support them in their development into self-confident, responsible and supportive personalities and in their success at school and in training. We attach great importance to independence and give young people good tools for a successful life.
